Keisaragæs – Emperor goose

An off-course emperor goose rests and feeds on the grounds of the Loussac Library as it pauses from its migration recently in Midtown. According to the Anchorage Audubon Soceity website, there has only been one other recorded emperor goose sighting here, in the spring of 2002. The goose nests in the coastal habitats of arctic and sub-arctic Alaska and Russia. (Doug Lindstrand)
